v0.09.1 Public Release


v0.09.1 has reached its public release!

V0.09.1 is here! It's been 3 months since the first version was released, and I've gotten a lot of feedback on the game in that time. This update is meant to improve quality of life by adding new functions / visual / fixing accumulated bugs / other.


New Functions:

- Added Notifications

Now when you reach character's MaxAffection or BreakPoint, receive a notification from the game. No need to check the diary all the time anymore.

- Added Icons for overworld

World exploration's UI (if you can call it that) looked quite dull to me. Then one comment gave me an idea how I could improve the visuals and add functionality along the way - icons.

From now on, each action in world exploration will be tagged with an icon indicating what that action entails: Character interaction, enter, leave, spend time, pass time, new event, etc.

- Added event alert screen

Moving further with the story, I'll gradually add more random events that trigger without the player's initiative. An example of such event can be found in v0.09, where after running into Onori in the bathroom twice as scripted, she might randomly appear there later. If the player will enter the bathroom when she is there, a small interaction occurs.

I noticed that at times it's not obvious right away that player got into interaction, so I made an alert screen that works about the same as notifications.

- Now you can go directly home from school and vice versa!!!!!


Visual:

- Latest save highlighted

Now the last save you made will have a different color from the rest so you'd be able to spot it easily.

- Day change animation

Most of you are going to ctrl it anyway.

- Modified main menu appearance. Added links to subscribestar, itch.io, discord. Added Icon to the .exe file


Bug Fixes:

- Big code reorganization

- Fixed positioning and animation issues

- Fixed camera issues (Sometimes players would see a black screen, especially in Replay)

- Fixed sprites alignment

- Fixed an error with frames that broke the game for SOME systems (Added the fix to 0.09 version too)


Other:

- Added mac version

- The game's size has been greatly reduced


Next update in 4 weeks

*Mind, that the time required for a Public update depends not on the size of this version, but on the size of the newer version which is being released on the same day on Patreon.

I think it's good that you're doing bug fix/function refining updates between content! Can't enjoy new scenes if the game doesn't run the way it's supposed to, after all!
